Chhorii 2 picks up seven years after the events of the first film, following Sakshi (played by Nushrratt Bharuccha), who now lives a quiet life as a schoolteacher and single mother. Her daughter Ishani, however, suffers from a rare condition that makes her extremely sensitive to sunlight. Their peace is shattered when Ishani is mysteriously abducted and taken back to the same haunted village Sakshi once escaped. Sakshi discovers that a dark cult—still operating in secret—has targeted her daughter for a sacrificial ritual called “samarpan,” meant to appease a demonic entity known as Pradhan Ji.Determined to rescue Ishani, Sakshi teams up with Inspector Samar (Gashmeer Mahajani) and descends into a chilling underground labyrinth built by the cult. Within the tunnels, she confronts not just supernatural threats, but deeply rooted social evils like child marriage, blind faith, misogyny, and female infanticide. Central to this twisted world is Daasi Maa (Soha Ali Khan), a high priestess caught between her own indoctrination and the disturbing truths she begins to uncover. As Sakshi races against time, she uses empowering stories to reconnect with her daughter and counter the manipulative folk tales used by the cult to brainwash her.Blending horror with social commentary, Chhorii 2 is more than just a thriller—it’s a critique of oppressive traditions masked in folklore. Though the scares are subtle and the pacing occasionally lags, the film stands out for its emotional depth, symbolic visuals, and strong performances. Ultimately, it’s a haunting tale of maternal courage and resistance against systemic evil, wrapped in the guise of supernatural horror.
