Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc continues the story of Denji after the events of the first anime season. Now working as a Public Safety Devil Hunter, Denji is trying to live a normal life despite being fused with the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita. One day, during a rainy encounter at a café, he meets a charming girl named Reze. She’s cheerful, kind, and seems genuinely interested in Denji, showing him glimpses of the ordinary happiness he’s always longed for—laughing together, going to school, and even sharing romantic moments. For the first time, Denji begins to imagine what a peaceful, normal life might feel like.
However, this dream quickly unravels when it’s revealed that Reze is not who she appears to be. She is actually a hybrid known as the Bomb Devil, sent as part of a secret mission targeting Denji and the mysterious heart within him that makes him Chainsaw Man. Torn between his feelings for her and his duty as a Devil Hunter, Denji is forced into a violent and heartbreaking conflict. What begins as a love story transforms into a tragic confrontation filled with explosive battles, betrayal, and raw emotion.
Throughout the film, Denji struggles to understand what love and trust truly mean in a world built on violence and deception. Reze, despite her mission, develops genuine feelings for him, blurring the line between enemy and lover. Their story culminates in a bittersweet ending that leaves both characters changed forever, reinforcing the central theme of Chainsaw Man: that even in a world drenched in blood and chaos, moments of tenderness and humanity still manage to shine through
